Does anyone else feel overworked looking for a job? Please say it’s not just me.

This is the longest period I’ve been unemployed since college, and if you’re like me, you are not ok. Well, you probably are ok, but you don’t always feel ok.

It’s a good thing that feelings aren’t facts.

Creating affirmations has forced my attention into a more positive line of thinking. In general, these mini pep talks hype me up enough to do what I didn’t think could be done and to believe better than my brain initially wants. Affirmations aren’t magic spells. I’m simply disciplining my mind to consider other options.

As one of the millions of unemployed hospitality workers, it’s been easy for my thoughts to become bleak. Right now, I’m focused on not talking myself out of applying for jobs because “no one’s really hiring” or “we’re all applying for the same roles”. Neither of those statements are 100% fact regardless of how things seem. And I know the only way to prove this is to get a new job by creating one or applying for many until I find The One.

So, to fix my attitude during this unavoidable job search, I’m going to meditate on the affirmations below. Please feel free to do the same. I wish you the best of luck!
